In 1933, four women from North Dakota took an epic #GirlsTrip to celebrate the last days of summer. Rae Fritch, Nina Harris, Allys Collings, and Dorothy Andris visited 32 out of 48 states, saving flowers, photos, ticket stubs, and other ephemera in this scrapbook. For the next five days, we’re going to relive their adventure—welcome to #GirlsTrip1933. . We’ll start where their journey began: in Fargo, North Dakota. They pooled together $150 and left in a used car they dubbed “Shasta.” (They later revealed the inspiration for that name in a news article: “Because shehasta have gas, shehasta have oil and shehasta have lots of attention.”) 😂 . Driving through Minneapolis, they stayed with friends in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin before heading to Chicago to see the Century of Progress World’s Fair. While in Chicago, they stayed at the Parkside Hotel, where a room cost them a grand total of FOUR DOLLARS. . Can you guess where they went next? 👭🚗👭 — [1-4] Video clip and photograph details of the Rae Ione Fritch, Nina Alvide Harris, Allys B.
